Hosting, models, and data in Europe. GDPR-compliant.

Where we start

Four areas.
Felt immediately.

We don't start with AI hype — we start with your bottlenecks. These are the areas where we most often deliver impact for SMBs.

Office automation

Quotes. Emails. Reports.

We build AI-powered templates and generators for repetitive writing work — from sales quotes to weekly reports. Typical saving: 5–10 hours per employee per week.

Document analysis

Contracts. PDFs. Data.

Automatic extraction and review of invoices, contracts, and forms. Structured data from unstructured documents — fed directly into your existing systems.

Workflow automation

Tools that talk to each other.

We connect your existing systems — CRM, accounting, mail, calendar — using n8n, Make, or custom pipelines. AI as the glue between the apps you already use.

Special topics

Image processing. ML. Data extraction.

On request, we develop tailored AI solutions for more complex tasks: image recognition in production, anomaly detection, custom machine learning models on your data.

AI Audit Workflow — Process Visualization
Our approach

No AI theater.

We are an in-house team based in Upper Austria. No subcontractors. No white-label consultants from elsewhere. You speak with the people who also build the project.

We also clearly say no if AI doesn't make sense for a given use case. You rarely hear that from a consultant — for us it's standard. Better to skip a project than spend six months for 5% impact.

How it starts

From workshop
to running use case.

Two possible entry points — depending on where you are today.

PATH A · Workshop

1–2 days. Clear plan.

If you don't yet know where AI makes sense for you: a one- or two-day workshop on-site or remote. We analyze your workflows, identify levers, prioritize by effort and impact.

Outcome: prioritized use-case list with ROI estimate. Price: flat from €1,500. Funded: up to 50% via KMU.DIGITAL.

PATH B · Strategy Sprint

1–2 weeks. From audit to pilot.

If you already have an idea and want to move faster into implementation: a compact sprint with workflow audit, use-case selection, and pilot setup. We don't deliver a report — we deliver a running system.

Outcome: productive pilot in your stack. Price: on request, depending on scope. Funded: via aws AI Adoption.

Grants

The government pays.
Up to 50%.

Austria generously funds AI projects in SMBs — we help you choose the right program and advise on the application.

  • KMU.DIGITAL — consulting & implementation grant, up to €9,000 (50% subsidy)
  • aws AI Adoption — larger AI projects, up to €150,000
  • aws AI Start — entry-level funding, up to €50,000
  • Biz-up — Upper Austria digitalization grant
  • FFG programs — for R&D and innovation components

Which program fits is something we clarify in the first call — at no cost.

What you get

Concrete outputs.
No slides.

Every project ends with tangible deliverables — that you can keep using without us.

Use-case roadmap

Prioritized leverage list.

Which processes in your company benefit most — sorted by effort, ROI, and risk. Concrete. Industry-specific. Actionable.

Pilot

A running use case.

Not a concept PDF, but a productive solution in your stack. After 2–4 weeks you see real numbers — not promises.

GDPR & EU AI Act

Compliance baked in.

EU hosting. Local models where possible. Data processing agreements. EU AI Act documentation. Compliant from day one — not retrofitted.

Documentation

Handover without lock-in.

Code, configuration, architecture — all documented. With team training as an optional add-on. You stay capable, even without us.

Why us

Four promises.
In writing.

Local

In-house team. From Upper Austria.

No subcontractors, no white-label constructs. You speak with those who also build the project. On-site in Linz, Vienna, Graz — or remote.

Sovereign

EU only. No US cloud.

Local AI models where possible. Servers at Hetzner in Nuremberg, Germany. No third-country transfers. No dependency on Big Tech.

Honest

We say no, too.

If AI doesn't help your use case, we say so. Better to skip a project than spend six months for minimal impact. Sounds obvious. It isn't.

Compliant

GDPR & EU AI Act.

Every project planned compliance-aware from day one. We know the requirements — and build so you're still legally safe in two years.

AI Consulting FAQ

AI consulting in Austria — the key questions.

Answers to the most common questions — to the point, more detail when you expand.

What is AI consulting, and what does it bring my company?

AI consulting identifies the workflows in your company that can be automated or accelerated through artificial intelligence. Instead of abstract strategy, we deliver actionable use cases — office automation (quotes, emails, reports), document and contract analysis, workflow automation with tools like n8n or Make. The goal: measurable hours saved per week, not AI gimmicks.

Which companies benefit from AI consulting in Austria?

Our focus is on SMBs with 10 to 50 employees without their own IT department, with repetitive processes, looking to operate more efficiently. Industries where we frequently deliver quick wins: tax advisors, law firms, trades, retail, services, B2B service, and consulting. We work across Austria — on-site in Linz, Vienna, Graz, or remote.

What does AI consulting cost in Austria?

A strategy workshop starts at €1,500 (1–2 days, flat fee) and delivers a prioritized use-case list with ROI estimates. Pilot projects with concrete implementation cost on request, depending on scope — typically between €5,000 and €25,000. Up to 50% funded through KMU.DIGITAL and aws AI Adoption. We advise on grant selection at no cost.

What grants are available for AI projects in Austria 2026?

The most important programs:

  • KMU.DIGITAL — consulting and implementation grant, up to €9,000 (50% of costs)
  • aws AI Adoption — larger AI projects, up to €150,000
  • aws AI Start — entry-level AI funding, up to €50,000
  • Biz-up — Upper Austria digitalization grant
  • FFG basic program — for R&D and innovation components

We check at no cost which program fits your project — and help with the application.

How does an AI consulting project with Ascend Media work?

We offer two entry points based on maturity:

  • Path A · Workshop (1–2 days): if you don't yet know where AI fits. We analyze workflows, identify levers, deliver a prioritized use-case list. From €1,500.
  • Path B · Strategy Sprint (1–2 weeks): if you want to move faster into implementation. We don't deliver a report — we deliver a productive pilot in your stack.

After handover, you can operate the use case yourself — or we accompany production / train your team as an optional add-on.

Which use cases are most useful for SMBs?

Four areas deliver measurable results fastest for SMBs with 10–50 employees:

  • Office automation: quotes, emails, weekly reports — typical saving 5–10 hours per employee per week
  • Document analysis: reviewing contracts, processing invoices, extracting data from PDFs
  • Workflow automation: connecting existing tools (CRM, accounting, mail) via n8n, Make, or Zapier
  • Special topics: image processing, ML models, data extraction — on request
What is the EU AI Act, and does it affect my company?

The EU AI Act is the EU regulation governing artificial intelligence, in force since 2024. It classifies AI systems by risk (from minimal to unacceptable) and mandates specific obligations for each risk level. Practically every company using AI must document training and define usage policies. We help with assessment and implementation — from day one.

Do you work with local AI models or with ChatGPT, Gemini, & Co.?

Both — but with a clear preference: when local or EU-hosted models are an option, we use them. Servers at Hetzner in Nuremberg, Germany, no US cloud, no third-country transfer. Where cloud models make sense (e.g. frontend assistants), we use providers with EU data processing and proper agreements. We build so you're still legally safe two years from now.
